The initiative aims to connect young people with socio-economic, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities, while promoting their civic inclusion.
The program relies on bootcamps, challenges/idea competitions, and calls for projects, allowing young entrepreneurs and innovators to submit their initiatives and potentially receive funding, support, and mentorship.
According to a 2022 report published by UNDP and its partners, Youth Connekt Cameroon generated, during its first three years, tangible results: over 9,000 jobs created, capacity building for more than 3,000 entrepreneurs, placement of youth in internships and jobs, as well as support for agricultural groups and small businesses.
Youth Connekt Cameroon is a national initiative stemming from Youth Connekt Africa, aimed at empowering Cameroonian youth through programs, events, and digital platforms. It brings together young people, decision-makers, institutions, and partners to create tangible opportunities for development, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Through flagship events such as the Youth Connekt Cameroon Convention, the Cluster Challenge, and Siprome Jeunes, the initiative fosters idea exchange, mentorship, networking, and access to resources. Young people can thus turn their projects into reality, develop their skills, and make a positive impact on their communities.
